Local Attractions
After a really good breakfast visitors can either go for a walk straight from the back door down the many tracks around the 450 acre farm or head off to one of the many fine attractions in Yorkshire.
These include:
The Yorkshire Wolds and the Vale of York : this area is literally criss-crossed by footpaths which provide wonderful walks in the fresh Yorkshire air. Pick up an Ordnance Survey map of the area to fully appreciate the area.
Riding: as the centre of a livery yard, visitors can bring their own horses to enjoy the local riding, and you can expect the highest standards of care for your horse.
York (14 miles) - including the York Minster (the largest medieval gothic cathedral north of the Alps), the Yorvic Viking Museum and the world famous Shambles street.
The Yorkshire Coast (20 miles) - including the wonderfully quaint Robin Hood's Bay, and many coastal walks.
Castle Howard (10 miles);
The North Yorkshire Moors with it's famous steam railway the North Yorkshire Moors Railway
Dalby: The Great Yorkshire Forest - ideal for walkers and a mecca for mountain bikers.
Goathland ("Aidensfield" from ITV's Heartbeat);
Whitby and the Abbey made famous by Dracula;
Plus there are numerous stately homes, museums, castles and of course, the local market town of Pocklington (5 miles).
